Dr. Angie’s Tutoring & Learning Resources Center (ATLRC) is looking for dedicated and caring tutors to join its educational team. You will work with K-12 students with various learning abilities either one-on-one, in small group (2-4), or large group (5-8) to provide help with homework or with skills in reading, writing, and math. The ideal candidate is open to training the ATLRC way, flexible, reliable, creative, and a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities

Help students understand challenging concepts in reading, writing, and/or math.
Set lesson goals and milestones.
Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement.
Prepare materials for tutoring sessions as needed.
Document progress and collaborate with the responsible adult(s) to evaluate student needs.
Provide virtual homework assistance.

Tutor Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum: junior or senior in high school with a 3.0 or higher; GED; or some college.
Proficient in reading, writing, or math.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Excellent communication skills.
Have reliable transportation.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Closed on holidays.

Current locations - Ypsilanti and Canton. Future Locations - Westland, Wayne, Inkster, Belleville, Redford, Southfield, Detroit.
